Pint of Origin – Geelong and South West
The Max Hotel Geelong, 2 Gheringhap street, Geelong
The Pint of Origin concept is going regional! For GBW 2016, The Max Hotel in Geelong is giving all of its taps (and a chunk of its fridges) over to craft beer from Geelong and the South West.
With rapid growth in the number of breweries both in Geelong and as far west as Barongarook there’s never been a more exciting time to come and check it all out in one location.
We’ll be kicking things off on Saturday the 14th with ‘Meet the Brewers’. The kitchen will be cranking out delicious beer food all day and there’ll be brewers everywhere who love nothing more than talking about beer, over a few beers…
Want to be our Regional Beer Rep?
Do you love beer? In particular Blackman’s beers?
Blackman’s Brewery is growing, brewing more beer and joining the craft can revolution. We’re extending our packaged beer list to include our entire core range, so we’re looking for the right person to help us spread the good beer word around our region.
We are seeking a very passionate, personable and enthusiastic person to join our team. The job would start at approximately 15 to 20 hours a week selling and delivering Blackman’s beers to the Geelong and surrounding regions. You’ll need to be highly organised, motivated and able to use initiative. Remuneration will be based on previous experience, which is ideal but not essential.
If you love beer and you’d like to be our regional beer person – please get in touch. Send us your CV and a cover letter explaining why you’d be the right person for the job to firstname.lastname@example.org by May 22nd.
Bells Pro Session Ale Launch
Bells Pro Session Ale Launch: Wed 23rd March from 4pm.
The Rip Curl Pro is one of the most prestigious surfing contests in the world – and it happens right here in our backyard!
To celebrate this amazing event and all the surfing legends coming to Torquay, we’ve brewed a new beer:
Bells Pro Session Ale
Coming in at around 4 %, this amber session beer has been made as the ultimate post surf beer. Lightly Hopped with Mosaic and Chinook to give it low bitterness and drinkability, then generously dry hopped to give a big juicy aroma.
This banger will be launched at the brewery on Pro Eve – Wednesday 23rd March, and before Easter madness begins. Come on down and check out the latest beer to make the tap wall. Renn will be hanging out to talk all things Session Ale.
Sylvan Berry Berlienerweisse Launch
NEW BEER LAUNCH: Sylvan Berry Berlinerweisse – a collaboration brew by Blackman’s Brewery and 3 Ravens Brewing.
A Berliner Weisse is traditionally a cloudy, sour, white beer. We’ve added 60 kg’s of berries from Ravens Farm Creek to enhance the tart flavour, give it a red/ruby colour and a delicious, summery taste.
Come down to the brewery to see Renn (Blackman’s), Brendan (3 Ravens) and Hayden (Ravens Creek Farm) tapping the first keg of Sylvan at Blackman’s at 5pm on Wednesday 6th January! We’ll have some awesome food specials to match and the guys will stick around for a chat and any questions about our first sour beer.
Sylvan is a one-off single batch and we’re pretty excited about it!
Mervyn Pale Ale is READY!!!!
We’re tapping this fruity, juicy, hoppy Summer beer on Friday night at the brewery. Renn will be hanging around to talk beer and tell you how he made this delicious Pale Ale.
In fact the whole weekend is dedicated to Mervyn. We’ve created some awesome food specials to pair with our new Pale Ale.
**Slow Cooked Beef Brisket with Mac and Cheese**
**Grilled Corn & Roast Sweet potato**
**An epic Steak and Cheese Burger**
So make sure you get down to the brewery this weekend and get to know Merv!
